Arrived around 10 this morning to a very warm welcome from
wilma colqhoun. Weather was rotten from the start but an odd fish was showing and i had the perfect take on a cdc hopper watching the fish rise from 4 or 5 feet down and engulf the fly completely. It was a stunning fish of 3Ib plus. Bobby Quinn had one of the nicest tiger trout ive ever seen and in the gin clear water you could see plenty of other tigers as clear as day, though tempting them was a different story . i had another crackin blue and another bow and rose 5 or 6 more missing them all.

we stayed till after 8 this evening just as they were starting to rise, this place is a stalkers paradise and the water is crystal so finesse is a must, it will be a superb top of the water fishery when the resident fish switch on.

Aldernuek is a small water at under 3 acres but the fish are of the very very best quality available and when this fishery matures it will be a beautiful place to spend a day managed by 2 of the most honest decent people ive met anywhere, it was great banter all day and well worth the travel down, ill be going back again.

A very good shout for a forum day out in my opinion, we could have a really good social outing here. And give this new venue a much needed financial boost.

Thanks for great hospitality wilma and wullie.

p.s ..........a sheep ate my Di5 thats a first.....

I agree with Alex a forum day oot at Aldeneuk should be on the cards,
Why dont you come down and see top quality fish
And hospitality second to none. its just a new fishery so a forum day out would give them a boost.

Thanks to Wilma and Wullie for a great day. As Alex said the hospitality was second to none. I had a tiger trout which was one of the best looking fish I have ever seen, plus 3 bows over 3lb. The weather was chucking it down but the banter and hot grub made the time out enjoyable. I could have listened to Country Joe and Wullie all day. Thanks again folks we will be back some time soon.
p.s not much to report from Hot 2 Trot cos she BLANKED
