Hi mate went up to day for a look about, one look was all it took a puddle is too good a word for it i thought more along the lines of .......hole, for all those interested don`t bother...... stick to the established local fisheries

hi chris
we have fished cloybank since it opened last year.we have never been back to any of the local fisheries because of the sport you get at cloybank. if there is a better small fishery in central scotland we have still to fish it. no wonder they are taking business from other fisheries close by. we have never caught so many really hard fighting fish. they have more double figure fish than any we have fished. top quality trout from 1lb up to 18lbs. my mate had 16 catch and release with an average weight of around 5 lbs. definately worth a visit.

i am glad someone has given posotive feedback on the fishery, i must admit it does look rather small and feature less but i think i will give it a go this week sometime.. still i wouldnt like to think of too many people at once up there i think it would become quite crowded at times.

Me and my mate went to burnhouse on saturday , didnt get on it cos it was a club day.
Not too keen on wellsfield so we decided to try cloybank for the first time, despite having heard reports about it being a puddle. When we arrived we could see that it was very small, however we decided to go for a 4hr c and r ticket.[no limit]. The owner told us about the double figures that were in there, the hard fighting fish etc.Must admit we were a bit dubious till we started fishing and within an hour my mate had 2 double figure rainbows, 1 at 13 and a half, and one at 10 and a quarter.Ended up gettin loads of takes and he got 3 fish in total and i got 2.what surprised the most was the fight , you would think these fish were gettin fed on bags of speed.it took me well over ten minutes to land a fish of 4 pound.cant argue with that for value for money at a small water
