Default Harelaw, some of you might of heard of the place!

Well it was meant to be a day of D.I.Y in the garden for me today but i changed my plans and headed up to Harelaw for a half day session.Started fishing around 10.30ish after introducing myself to Alex and having a wee chat about few things including Auldjos tasty choccy cake! First cast off the dam wall and i had a thump but no hook up,i soon went off on a wander. Got to confess the first fish i hooked was fluked, with the fish taking a wee creation of my own when i had casted out and was concentrating on my footing as i was wading. But they all count and i was happy to release a nice fish around the 2lb mark. After blanking on my only other previous visit to Harelaw i was glad the pressure was off,nae need for another mention on the blankers club board!A change of flies and i put on a fly called the Joey i had tied up after seeing it in a magazine. The fish certainly seemed to like and i soon had number 2 released. The 3rd fish of the session was a right scrapper,a real savage take and it was off heading to the horizion!Best fish of the day for me around 3lb.A fourth was soon to follow, these had all came to this Joey pattern.I had been on the water for around an hour and a half,so i thought i would try another area and some different tactics.Crossed back over the dam wall and fished my way down the left hand bank but with no joy i went back and tried the dam wall.I was pulling a Stimmie and though i could get the fish to chase just could`nt tempt them to take the fly.Cracking fun all the same!Spent the last part fishing a Shipmans but never had anything come up for up.Had a chat with Alex before heading for home, seems a decent enough lad and told him i would be back up in a few weeks time to give his water another go from the boats.Andy p.s. No pies or lines were offered for writing MY OWN REPORT!!!!Nor were any arses kissed!

Chris, I hope to have a ride up to fish the Clyde before too long, with Buzz.
Would I pass your shop on my journey, as I am desparate to try one of these pies of yours.

Chris, just last week, Mr. Buzz said he'd show me the skills required for a good day on the Clyde. Gimmee a shout if it's on.

Re. the pies Steven. I'm sure Chris could box one, two or even a FORTH and send them to you .

I would seriously take him up on that Don, it's just my faith in the royal mail, makes me think they might be a bit past their best on arrival.
