Talking Harelaw

Went up to harelaw today to pick up a raffle prize that Alex kindly donated to the world team raffle .The weather was terrible, winds were gusting up to 30mph and the occasional downpour. I didn't have any tackle with me except for waterproofs Alex gave me a loan of a rod ,floating line and i begged a dry fly which was met with a "in those conditions" and of i went .To cut a long story short in 2hrs from the bank with a dry in those conditions i ended up with 9 fish and lost a few more .The fish that i got were fin perfect and were among some of the best fighting fish i have came across If any of you haven't tried Harelaw yet i would certainly recomend you give it a go.

Cheers Alex for you hospitality m8

Thumbs up

i will keep asking this question ,why isn't this place over run with anglers ? ,it just doesn't make sense as this is without doubt the most talked about still-water around at the moment, with what Ive experienced and heard time and time again the hardest fighting fish also.
someday they will take it on board Alec mate.

I'm heading up tonight for the early morning session at 3:30am, hope I do half as well as you did James.

I also hope those winds have died down or it's going to be a pretty quick drift.

James and andy were both struggling to catch until i gave them some guidance on where they were going wrong............

Aye right.

Glad you enjoyed it mate , still very windy but hopefully it will drop by tonight ,
alot of fish rising from the dam wall, wind is still high, i managed a few after you left on the cdc hopper.
The early session will go ahead regardless.
