I've not fished Rutland for a few weeks as I've had comps on Grafham. The first tip I would give you is don't go alone on your first trip, especially if the weather forecast is quite windy.

Second tip I would give you is drop Rob Edmunds a PM as he practically lives on Rutland and Grafham so will be able to give you some good advise.

The fish are high in the water when it's overcast..2-4ft deep on average

So it's the washing line set up for me...sparkler booby on the point and red holographic crunchers and diawls on the droppers.

Lax Hill
Cattle Trough
Old Hall Point

Fantasy Island
East Creek

Are all fishing well....

If it's windy and sunny....DI-5 and Orange Blobs and Sparklers pulled...same area's

lots of fish feeding on pin fry at the moment out in open water especially from sailing club/ nz point to yellowstone and these are well mended early season fish and quite tricky to tempt. There are still fish in the mouth of manton although i think it probably needs a rest now and also gibbets. Yesterday lots of fish were caught pulling in the basin mostly on boobies / blobs etc, a lot of recent stockies have found their way onto the boils i believe there are also fiish at the blue pipes. Haven't been up the North arm this year but there will usually be pin fry feeders arond carrot creek
