Default Mask

just back from Mask & to say it was hard was an understatement
3 of us over since saturday & we had 4 perch to show for all efforts.
on thursday we fished a competition with 40 rods & all out with experienced boatmen, 1 fish was weighed in 1lb 1oz
should have been there till tomorrow but we just couldnt face another day of it home today
lets hope it picks up as it can be a crackin loch to fish

It can be on hell of a tough lake at times, especially when it's sunny and calm like it was the last week. I was there for a week at the start of September last year and it was sunny and calm as well, I was trolling spinners and plugs without catching anything all week*, the funny thing was there was a huge number of fish rising, especially in front of the boat, it was almost like when you see schools of dolphins on TV jumping in front of a ship That was a large part of what inspired me to take up fly fishing

I'm going down there for a week tomorrow, hopefully now the weather has broken it'll fish a bit better.

i hope its better for you
when the gillies cancel their clients its never a good sign
they were telling us that the water has not fished well this year but the warm spell should have helped
mayfly are coming off now in numbers
if not there is always the black stuff
