Default Gartmorn Dam-RAGING!!!

Hi all...

Me and my mate went along to Gartmorn this evening for some fishing, was shaping up to be a smashing night.

On arrival there were 3 boats on the water and 8 on the jetty. When we asked the 'lad' for a boat for the night he said they were all booked-this was at 6:30pm as there could have been a club or something arriving, so we decided to stick on the waders as he said the bank was fishing well.
We walked up one side of the resevoiur and there were e few openings in the trees to get a cast out, even wading right out.
By 7.30 we noticed none of the boats had moved so walked round and asked if could take one for the last few hours as it was turning into a perfect evening!! Que the rage!

We we told that the boats WERENT actually booked but all the batteries were flat as all had been out for the day, so we asked for oars and he point blank refused, and was a total DICK about it!

We decided to go round and try fish of Dam into headwind however that wasnt what we were therefore so we packed up and went back to ask again, or for a explaination at least.

We were told that they wont let the boats out with oars, only with electric motors-WHY?? Apparently its too dangerous??? I calmy explained we were both competent boat anglers, with life jackets but the ***** wouldnt have any of it. He just stood there telling us the Finnish international team had been out all day and the batteries were flat and if something happened to us and we didnt have a motor then he would be up **** creek-WHY IS THIS????? How could the batteries be flat, but some folk still out with theres??? What fcuking differnce does having a lecy motor or oars make!
My mate was actually ready to go for him so we left, and will not be back for that reason. Its a smashing fishery, but why is it left to be run by these un interested fuds?? They sat in there lodge the whole time, there were boxes of empty beers all round the place....Does my tits in!!

Am so so annoyed about this, what is it all about??

Rant is over and i actually want people not to go for those reasons!! I am sorry for the swearing in this post but made my blood boil!!!!

Doesn't say much for their organisation .Even I would say that they should have two sets of batteries .One in use and one charged or on charge .When the boats have been out for a while ...presumably they are numbered so they'll have a good idea how long they've been in use ...swap out the battery and replace with a charged one .Job done .

Default H&S - don't you luv it?

Aye, well, we've had leccy motors for about 15 years. Folk have been rowing boats since before the Roman Empire FFS!

Exactly mate...i would of understood if it was a rowdy wave or blowing a mad gale but it was textbook fishing conditions.

What annoyed me too that i forgot to mention was how could the boats still out there have charge in there batteries but the others not, as mentioned simple organisation to have 2 sets of batteries, one in use and one charging or charged.

They were set on not letting us out, but it was the manner of it all that realy annoyed us!!
