just spent 3 of the last 4 days on Tal Y Llyn with a group of American Tourists (squeezed in a day on the Severn on the other day) and had an excellent time.
We had fish on all 3 days including 6 or 7 sewin to 2lbs taken from the stream area on the far bank.
Phil the new fishery manager (robroy on here) has some great ideas for the place including a monthly stocking to support the head of natural browns, tackle shop, more boats, float tubing and an all inclusive package of accomodation/breakfast/boat and fishing to name just a few. Things are finally looking good for Tal Y Llyn. Lets just hope that the man with the cheque book gives Phil all the financial support he needs to return Tal Y Llyn to it's former glory.
I've been guilty of avoiding the place for the last 4 or 5 years due to the bad publicity it's had locally and to some degree nationally but will definatley be back very soon.
For anyone who may be put off by the "expense", how does £24 each sound for a full day ticket inc boat, 6 fish bag limit, the chance of a sea trout or salmon, the best view in the UK and the warmest welcome you are ever likely to get from a fishery manager?? (and if you're very lucky a sneaky peak at Phils fly box!!!

)
or £55pp for a B+B - come on, you'll pay that much for a Travelodge in some places - take the wife (take my wife if you like!!) for a fantastic weekend in one of the most beautiful places in the world, keep in the good books, earn those brownie points and also squeeze in a few hours fishing! that's what dreams are made of!!
Phil - I wish you every success with the new job and I apologise for missing you at Brenig on Sunday - we decided to give the sea trout another go after catching 4 on Saturday evening after you left. I'll pop over and see you soon to arrange the float tubing thing we talked about. If you need a hand with anything you know where I am.
Shane - It's been a while - I think the last time we spoke you were trying to sell me some ink cartridges!! congratulations to you and collette on your big day and I'll catch you soon at Tal y Llyn I'm sure.
