Default Harelaw Fishery

Hi All
Had a good days fishing today, conditions were not ideal, intermittent heavy rains and intermittent heavy winds started about 9:30 am finished about 2:30 had a couple of coffees and a good natter with Alex(still not sure bout the mini blobs LOL).
Finished the session with 9 fish caught and as many lost on long and short range releases
The fly i was catching on was a size 10 Daiwl Bach black body with flou orange hot head...
Best of luck with the sunday competition.

I also had my first visit to Harelaw today and despite the conditions I had a great day. Put on a lure that Alex had tied the night before and within minutes I was getting bites but no solid takes.
I slowed my retreive down and hooked a nice fully finned rainbow.

I then moved on to the left hand bank, changed to some wets and missed a few including a large broonie which went for the point fly just as I lifted off to cast.

I plugged away and was rewarded with a lovely 2lb blue trout caught on a snipe and purple which fought like you wouldn't believe. Never caught one of these stunning fish so I was over the moon, if only i had hooked the broonie I would have had the full set.

Thanks again for a wonderful day and your hospitality Alex. It was my first visit but it won't be my last.
