Default Alderneuk Fishery - weekly report

31/04/09-06/05/09
Fish coming to a variety of flies: buzzers, nymphs, lures and dries all doing well.
Dougie Inglis and Simon Littlejohn fished on Saturday taking fish to 5lb+ on Black Rabbit and drys. Great fun was had on Sunday by one of our regulars, Andy, stalking fish with the dry fly. A 4lb 12oz beauty succumbed. The mad feeding frenzy in the shallow bay that provided lots dry fish opportunities has slowed with fish now being taken on dries all over the water.
John Martin had a tremedous 4 hours on Tuesday, 3lb 10oz fish taken and 10 other fish to 6lb returned. Black and orange fritz producing the goods.

Please note that the fishery will be closed on Sunday 31st May from 9.00am to 4.00pm for a private fishing competition. We will re-open in time for an evening session.

Thanks to Country Joe for his response re our C&R policy, fishery rules remain the same, no changes, C&R once ticket limit caught i.e. 1 fish ticket, first fish killed then C&R, 2 fish ticket, first 2 fish killed then C&R etc.

Hi KINGFISHER yes im glad COUNTRY JOE cleared that rumour up too, i believe it started at DRUM but i must stress NOT by ANDY at the DRUM. It was i that asked JOE the question and i must say i questioned it when i heard it. Im glad to hear its still fishing well and to be honest ive never heard anything but m8 Dougie and SIMON are quality anglers and well respected in the angling scene ,it all bodes well for the future pal if that calibre of angler comes away from ALDERNEUK after a good day.The power of speech is a powerful tool and hopefully theyll pass on the good news ,saying that the flip side is someone starting a spiteful rumour like i asked JOEHope your both well m8 TIGHTLINES ,JIM.
