I was wondering if anyone could advise on any good fisheries near chesterfield. The only one that I can find is called Press Manor fishery. Anyone have any experience of it or any other recomendations??

If its still waters you are after Barlow has 4 small lakes which are in a very pleasant location. For bigger waters there is Ladybower which is also very scenic.

Hi Craig

We have lots of excellent fishing around this area. Press Manor is good, Barlow Lakes are small with plenty of fish. Check out the rivers section around Derbyshire (all within 20 minutes drive).
My personal favorite is Carsington which is fishing its head off and has done for the last few years.
Drop me a PM when you are thinking of coming down and I'll try and advise you.

I've been down this area for 25 years now and wouldn't go back over the border for trout fishing when I have tasted what is on offer in Derbyshire.

Iain

Went to Press Manor for a few hours on Saturday and had a great time. Took a boat out and within 10 mins hooked in to a 4lb rainbow which is a pb for me! so a great start to the day. It carried on with fish after fish albeit they were not as big as the first but they all had phenonmenal fight on them.

All were caught on a gold head montana and at the end of the day I landed 4 and 4 more got away but only after a great fight,

Happy days will definately be back for more.

Next time I am down i will definately try carsington. The main reason I choose Press Manor was becasues it was closer and I was tight for time on this occasion but next time I will get a day free to go to Carsington,
Cheers
Craig
