Default Glenquicken double joy

Hi guys ,just to let you know GLENQUICKEN deserves a mention as myself and uncle VIC went over on SATURDAY .We had 20 odds between us and i had 2 doubles of around 12lbs,and my unc had one at 11and half. There were 2 others caught that day BUT the best of the day was a young holiday maker and his dad who didnt know that you put all doubles back was going to KNOCK theres when the owner saw him , it was hilarious the best thing about his trophy was he caught it on a 3lb tippet on a dry mayflY?? Great angling from a young lad and i told him so ,even tho hes now banned for life Its not all about DOUBLES but isnt it a thought that every time you hook one it could be a fish of a lifetime. The staff couldnt be nicer and as a family buisness theyre so hands on. its out of the way but worth a trip id say. tightlines JIM

How do you do it willey, you jammy sod,
Best fighting fish i have came across for a long time.
Ive been twice, had seven fish, none under three pounds and all with perfect fins and tails.
Willey how deep is it, and do they have Blues?
Sorry i got mixed up, thought it was Alderneuk fishery.

Great report. This is a cracking fishery, I managed to fish it once earlier in the year whilst up in D&G, very friendly staff and great fighting fish. I had a few quality fish out and got snapped off by a cracker just next to the telegraph pole. Must visit again

I only fished it once and it was blowing a gale,
Didn't have a good day,if traveling a distance you have to pick your day,
as its quite exposed,
I definitely will be back.

Hi COUNTRY JOE, its not rocket science m8 ,IF your fortunate enuff to hit a method early on and get some numbers on the board,i think with the size of GLENQUICKEN and the % of doubles eventually youll run into 1 or 2. My method was a black and green buzzer m8 under the HAIR BRUSH PIMPS,it was deadly last week, and the time b4 that it was a PINK BUZZER. Id say start with your proven fish catchers and even more importantly what your confident with. Ive seen myself tying a fly on and by the time im on the backcast ive decided its coming off b4 its wet I fished it the last time and it was blowing a hoolie, i had it to myself. I had 20 odds??? Its not about being cold its about how many layers you have on . Honestly m8 i travelled 2 hours to get there and i had a fantastic day,it fished its head off. Im already planning my next trip when the wee girl in my piccy allows me Talking of ALDERNEUK ,i like talking it up now that youve mentioned it BUT is it true its went NO CATCH AND RELEASE NOW???? I JUST HEARD THAT AND DONT KNOW FOR SURE,have you heard anything pal

My father inlaw owns a static caravan in Creetown, have been down 100s of times.
Only thing is ..i have only just made a return to fishing after many years...
Worse still is this will be his last year with the caravan..
We took a run up to Glenquicken a few weeks back for a nosy..looks superb!!!
Will be down there in a couple of weeks(this time my rod will also be packed)
Definitely giving it a go.
Will also be down in August for a week so will get a bit more fishing done..
