Default sizzling hot Harelaw

well after a start to a weekend when i was meant to be spending my time at loch Awe ,which ended up in a dose of food poisoning ,and a heavy bout of sickness all Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
however after a couple of hours sleep! its was fishing time again, and me and my bro decided to go give Harelaw a try, which at first i though was the totally the wrong decision ,,as it was bright and this was keeping fish down ,although during the first hour or so i was their ,their were a couple of 3-4 pound fish taken from around the dam wall.

well to the main event, and it was at the end of the night just when i thought i was going to blank!! ,that the totally great host ,Alex Cairnie, did offer to take my self out on the boat for the last hour, and by god did we have a smashing time on those bobbies ,,as drift after drift on approach to the bank on every cast we had confident follows ,,with fish turning and chasing flies for a full 15-20 yards ,with a bow wave that would put jaws to shame ,and this continued the whole last hour we fished ,so a big thank-you to Alex ,your a top man and a brilliant host.

and with 3 fish for 8lb it was a great night and Alex getting another 3-4 for around 12lb it something i will take a long time to match i think, so a few were taken for the pot.

i know these aren't the most pretty pictures but by the time we were finished it was dark so onto the worktop was the only option.

oh and by the way these are the hardest fighting fish i have ever came up against by far, with big full tail and runs that just went on and on, bloody great!!!!.

dont see the problem posting comments for any fishery as this is in "still water updates" section. seems to me Harelaw is a breathe of fresh air to lots of people and they feel the need to let everyone else know what is available to them.

There's no problem at all with posting comments, but my point was about the number of different threads on the same subject:

sizzling hot Harelaw

Harelaw today

Hot Harelaw

All in the first 4 pages of the Stillwater Updates sections

I have read all the threads about the harelaw and just how great it is so i felt that i really needed to see this for myself, so today about lunch time i went for a wee drive, no fishing rod, just a drive to see what this place is like for myself, met alex and spoke to him for over an hour, spot on bloke who gave me plenty of his time and plenty of general fly fishing advice and good advice with regards to this fantastic piece of water, the time i was there i seen plenty of people hitting fish and had a wee shot myself with some guidence from alex and had a fish on which was obviously returned and had plenty of follows.

In summary this is a fishery that i will most def be back to really soon with a fantastic owner who is doing his very upmost to provide good sized hard fighting fish and ensuring everyone that visits his fishery has a fantastic experience.

Cheers again.

Pleasure meeting you and wont be the last time mate.
