Default Blenheim Palace Mayfly

Had an afternoon on Blenheim yesterday and took a walk through the black gates into the Lince beat after what seemed to be an age i came across a lovely old stone bridge . The beat is not easy to fish but there has been some swims cut out and i understand the weed will be cut in these. But what i couldn't beleive was the hatch of Mayfly not just one or two but loads . I didn't have my dry's with me but did tempt fish on a hares ear. I will be back soon!!!! I have heard there are a few Mayfly on the river frome as well is this not early?

One or two starting to trickel off the Glyme today, there's a big mayfly hatch around here and it's not unusual to see a few this early. Fish don't generally start to rise to them for a few weeks but it's always worth trying a nymph.
