Default Lintrathen

I'm fishing up here on Saturday and really looking forward to it since it's my first real outing this year. It certainly fished well the times I was there last year. Has anyone fished it recently and can pass on advice? Or has the competition season started already and the tactics can't be divulged?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Did you manage to get out on Lintrathen yesterday bigtroot? Conditions must have been pretty good if you did?

Sorry Wiremill i went to rescobie instead! I got home a day late from offshore which buggered all my plans up,
Rescobie fished well and had my arm nearly pulled off with the crazy amounts of offers, follows and really hard takes, great day's fishing!
Will be on lintrathen next week so will get back to you with a report!

Thumbs up Plenty fish

Lintrathen was great on Saturday. We started in at the rhoddies and had 7 fish in the boat after about 3hrs. Most of the fish were under 2lb but fought well above that. I got an over wintered one about 3lb that had me down to the backing a couple of times - great fun We were getting offers and takes almost every drift which is why my boat partner and I were surprised there were no other boats to be seen. We then took a trip round the back of the island and found out why everyone had bagged up early doors and were all still catching fish every other cast. There must have been thousands of fish in there. We completed our limits and then went to the east end of the wee bay to get away from the main shoal as it was too easy. We had one drift the full length of the bay and still hit fish every few casts - all the way down. Best patterns up the rhoddies were kates and cormorants - in the wee bay, it didn't make one bit of difference from buzzers to shuggies. Biggest fish we weighed in was 5lb and the rest averaged out at just under 2lb inlcuding a few blues about 1 1/2lb which fought like stink. Thoroughly enjoyed our day including seeing 3 ospreys in the air at one time. Apart from our club there were only another couple of boats out. I'd imagine there may be a few more boats out here in the next wee while

I was on a fast glass retrieving reasonably slowly but my boat partner was stripping lures on a fast sink so it obviously didn't matter too much when you found the fish.
