I was at Hanningfield on saturday. I gave up on the fly fishing as I couldn`t cope with the wind. I switched to coarse tactics and had 4 fish. I had a sneaky look at the catch returns when I finished and there were a lot of blanks for those fishing the inlet. I fished the deeper water in the goldfish bowl and I was pretty much the only one who stuck it out in that section. The wind was blowing left to right quite hard and I think thats what kept the fly anglers in the sheltered areas. Unfortunately, it seems the trout had other ideas.
