Default Any Rultland info welcome

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any info on how rutland was fishing? I'm hoping to get over there tomorrow so anything at all would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Boat or bank? Have a look at the AWMT thread in the competition forum.

There were plenty of bank anglers between blue pipes and Fantasy and I think the wind will suit that tomorrow. I'm guessing it will be buzzers off the bank.

I got to Normanton shore at about 13:30 today and there were fish being caught steadily all afternoon. Small green buzzers and Diawl Bach (Green) accounted for my bag and according to the Head Warden were catching all the way down to the church. The wind looks set fair for tomorrow off that bank!

Went out yesterday on the bank and managed to get 7 out and lost another half a dozen just near stockie bay point. There was no one there when I arrived which I couldn't believe, it's usually packed out. The fish didn't seem to be taking the fly right for some reason. Had a lot of fish on for about a second then off again and lost a few at the net and no end of plucky takes which came to nothing. Took 3 on a black and green tadpole, 1 on a size 14 black buzzer, 1 on an orange tadpole on the floater and a couple on a white and green booby on a di3. There were plenty of fish rising throughout the although they were a good 50 to 60 yards out from the bank. Everytime a boat drifted by they were straight into fish. Although there were a few fish rising closer in. There wasn't a lot of wind so that didn't help getting a line out very far, luckily it stayed overcast. Were clouds of small buzzers (size 16-18) hatching off they looked a dark green colour. Some of the fish were rammed to the gills with them when I spooned them and some were completely empty. A guy I was talking to said they had been catching along the sailing club, in Whitwell and also a few from the Old hall.
I also went last week and caught along the finches and had quite a few in Whitwell too.

hi all - sorry i havn't posted earlier but i've not had chance. Report as promised but it is from friday so probably means jack now!

fished fantasy to the blue pipes for 2 hours, tried buzzers and lures and never had a touch! Moved round to stockie bay and caught 3 straight away on a cat booby. Fish were pretty close but the boats started to annoy me so i left for the solitude of the peninsular. Fished barnsdale on the way round. Nowt. Fished carrot creek. Nowt. Fished Yellowstone......bingo! Wind was straight at me but not to strong. caught fish steadily until i had to leave at 3.30. Caught on buzzers and cats whiskers. Fish were stuffed with little green buzzers. My old man caught well in Old hall bay aswell.

Cheers
