The diawl bach isn't a bad fly at all for Thornton. In fact some of the regulars swear by it. But it may be something "green and black" is better for now.

Boats may need to be booked for Saturday - with it being Easter - but it is fishing well from the bank currently. Waders are allowed as are float tubes.

If you give the Lodge a ring and speak to Ifor Jones, or try him at Foremark, he'll give you an up to date and honest fishing report and advice.

Weather forecast for Saturday, Wind North, North Westerly 5 – 10 mph cloud chance of light showers air temperature 6 – 9 degrees.

With that forecast the wind will come down the Thornton Arm & swing down into the Markfield Arm, at that wind speed it wont be a problem.

Buzzer hatches are improving lots of sand martins & swallows down on the water last night and again this morning. As long as we get the cloud that they forecast the bank should be OK.

Diawl Bach worth a try.
