A little abrupt with the questioning there Damselee!

However...
Fish caught between 2 and 5lbs, all good quality. It's £35 to catch and keep 4 and release a further 6.
Fly's? I reckon they'll take pretty much anything...

Sorry, I thought the same myself but I had already pressed "submit reply".

Thanks for the info, I live in Coventry and regularly fished at Blenheim some 20 years ago, I remember one red letter day I had there when we had Tench after Tench intermingled with Roach to over 2lbs, we used to head dead opposite the boat house moor up into the reed bed and have a fantastic days fishing.
I could not believe they had opened part of the lake to trout fishing.

Would you reccomend I give it a try?

Again please accept my apologies.

Cheers
Lee

No problem! I thought you might be suffering 'fish rage'!!
I haven't been myself yet so only have the word of my wife, but it does sound like it's worth giving it a go. Fishing sounds pretty easy - probably due to recently stocked fish - I'd be very interested in seeing how it fishes once it's settled down a bit.
I know the water very well from FF for pike there but it's anybody's guess how trout will settle in and what flies etc. will become favorites.
The pike must be lovin' it!

Cheers

Andy

I fished the trout lakes at Blenheim this morning. Bought ticket online last night, printed reciept so got straight in to the fishing when I arrived, saw nobody but one jogger in the first hour and half. Got the best of the weather between 7 and 9am and landed 4 fish before a break from the rain. Got back to it and had 5 more. Best fish was 6 lbs, had a 5 1/2 and the others were all between 2 and 3 lbs. Most of them fell for a black/red or black/green montana, had a couple on PTN and one on a GH Bloodworm, all in the top two feet of water. Also had a 6lb bream just next to the bridge.

A thoroughly enjoyable morning. Loads of fish rising and taking something off the top but not my klink or emerger. A good midge hatch and lots of swallows zooming and scooping their share of bugs too.

Had a good chat with the Head Gamekeeper (Sorry I forgot to write up catch return mate: 2 fish taken, 2lb 5oz and 5lb 8oz). Honest and up-front about stocking, pike and investment/plans. I'll definately be going back, easy ticket purchase, cracking scenery, friendly staff and not to well known yet. A good addition to the list of Oxfordshire stillwaters, will get busier and tougher I'm sure, looking forward to it.

Sounds good to me. Anyone know if they are at the dry fly yet? Might give it a go this weekend. Sounds like good value and the fish in your pics look good for "stockies".

Had a walk around Blenheim park the other day and saw a couple of gents sat in the fishing car park having a picnic with china and a bottle of real ale.
Asking how they had got on they said that they had caught a few but what a place to have lunch. It sounds good to me . I've taken a leaflet and i am sure i will book.

Decided to fish Blenheim this morning for a few hours. Nothing taking or showing on both banks of the Bladon beat and off the submerged bridges. Had a quick chat with the Head Gamekeeper and moved up to Rough Piece. Had 6 fish in a couple of hours. Lost a good few fish as a lot of them were amateur acrobats and managed to throw the hook right back at me. Had a couple of hook-benders too and there were a some big fish patrolling the margins, easy to spot, not that spooky but not interested in my offerings.

My mate and I had a half day ticket each today to fish here for the first time, started at 7am and ended by 9am on Rough Piece just up from the bridge both of us managed to hit our bag limit of retaining first fish then C&R 3 more with no real problem avr size was 3lb, even managed to loose a couple too, hard fighting fish but they were taking pretty much anything we threw at them! hopefully it will settle down once established and then I think it will be a real gem to fish, the scenery around you is fantastic, we did take a wander around most of Bladon beat is fairly shallow, a lot of bream shoaling in there too, def go back at some point but this time for the day and try different areas.
Like the pay on line and print ya own ticket bit saves messing around when you get there, prices bit steep though in my opinion, could do with a "sporting" ticket as I feel your gonna bag up real quick here!
