Default Hot Harelaw

I enjoyed outstanding sport on Harelaw today with my regular boat buddy. The fish which went like trains were high in the water and close to the shore. With one on the oars and one fishing we managed 20 fish all bar one returned.they were a mixture of rainbows, blues and a cracking 2lb 8oz brown. The top fly fished on a fast glass was the popular clan chief dressed on a size 10 kamasan B175.We also lost loads had countless follows, swirls and boils during the day. Thanks Alex for a top day out.I urge you to give Harelaw a try as it is stuffed with fish.It suits all styles from the lure puller to the small and imitative approach from both boat and bank.Hanging the flies at the end of each retrieve worked really well through the day.

some cracking sport was had tonight by john fleming and scott munro on the moyne shore and hectors bay, fish were rising all over chasing boobys on the top and big muddlers, the lads managed 11 between them and turned dozens more.

Robert smith from east kilbride had a very big rainbow on for over ten minutes on the dam wall before unfortunatly losing it on a sunken fence. He did manage 2 for 6Ibs to make up for it.

had a good 4hours today, just fishing from the bank. Lost a decent fish from the dam wall, then worked round to the right to stay sheltered from the wind as my casting doesnt work into a wind. Lost the next fish i hit into aswell after some great acrobatics. Then hit another and this time it didnt get away. Must of been over 3lbs easily and i think it had been on steroids because it sure was strong!! Took a size 14ptn. Missed another from the dam wall with a yellow owl then it was home time a happy man.

Harelaw was difficult today in the bright sunshine but those who used the fast glass were rewarded with good sport for short periods most of the day. the dam wall area was the place to be and the moyne shore also holding fish.

an orange blob on the top dropper and black lures were taking most fish. resident fish were falling to black buzzers on a glass line.

phenomenal rise today witnessed by many anglers, hundreds of fish moving together on the polloks shore and off the twin points. black buzzers were the downfall of many.

davie faulds returned the first big brown of the year estimated at almost 6pounds.

Graham scott returned 12.

many bag limits taken before lunchtime.
