fished foremark today and was glad to see plenty of people on the banks and out on the boats, had my best day at foremark catching sixteen rainbows all in great condition and put up one hell of a fight.couple of guys on the point at flamingo bay seemed to catch a fish every cast. started off in flamingo bay with little return so move over to the ticknell arm , slime line and a white lure fished slow i took 11 cracking bows . then took a slow walk back to the lodge and caught five more next to the pontoon at the sailing club. roll on next weekend

Foremark Trout Fishery Report week ending 05/04/09

We have enjoyed an excellent start to the season at Foremark with 174 rods catching 2130 trout returning 1585 for a rod average of 12.2

Our initial stocking of just under 5000 trout ranging in size from 1lb4oz – 10lb will increased by a further 1500 trout this week to ensure our good sport continues over Easter.

The anglers fishing the bank have caught well from the boat pontoon, flamingo bay & hut point with boats finding trout in front of the lodge, sun blest & bramble bay.

On the cooler mornings an intermediate or DI5 has worked best especially for the boat anglers however once the air temperature increased a floating line was the order of the day. A large number of fly patterns have worked from blobs, tadpoles, cats whiskers, damsel diawl bach & buzzers.

A number of large stocked & overwintered trout have been caught Keith Coley 10lb1oz, I. Hartland 10lb, L. Wheeler 9lb8oz, S. Pym 7lb12oz & Ian Hall 5lb8oz.

Lodge & bank fishing open from 7.30am
Full Day Boats 8.30am – 7.15pm
Part Day Boats 7.30am – 2.00pm / 2.00pm – 7.15pm

All anglers off the fishery by 8.00pm Close

Bob Durose caught a 6lb10oz rainbow Allan Dawes 7lb rainbow with Max Pulford also taking a 7lb rainbow. Scott Wilson caught one of the largest bags of the week taking over 40 fish for his visit.

Foremark report 20th April – 26th April

The excellent start to the season at Foremark continues with 210 rods catching 1558 trout returning 1004 for a rod average 7.4

Bank anglers are enjoying good sport from sunblest bay down to bramble bay while the boats are finding good numbers of trout along the gorse bushes & carvers rock. The best fish of the week at 7lb11oz was taken by P. Moore on a damsel fly fished on a sinking line in front of the cascade.

During the week we held our qualifying round of the troutmasters competition all anglers who fished took their 6 fish limit with the eventual winner 18 year old Richard Archer 6 fish weighing 12lb4oz.

An intermediate or sinking line continues to be the best line with black & green tadpole, orange blobs & buzzer patterns working well. We are however as the temperature continues to rise starting to take more & more trout on a floating line.

Lodge, main gate open 7.30am
Full Day Boats 8.30am – 8.30pm
Part Day Boats 8.30am – 2.30pm / 2.30pm – 8.30pm
All anglers off site by 9.00pm

Foremark Weekly Report 27th April-3rd May

With the brighter weather this week and the clear water, the bulk of the fish have moved out of Flamingo Bay to along Carvers arm banks. Sun blessed Bay and Bramble bay have been producing well. The fish appear to be lying in the deeper water close to the sharp drop offs and shelves close to the banks.
Most of the bank anglers are still having some good sport, with some anglers attaining catches into double figures. Rainbows are the predominant species with the occasional over wintered blue being tempted. Black and green lures, Olive Damsels are still doing the business, however buzzers are well worth trying during brighter spells.

Boat anglers are still catching good numbers of fish from the various Bays along the Ticknall bank.
Mr D.J. Lupton of D.C.A.C reported 28 fish in a two and half hour session, on a Dragon fly nymph,
Mr J. Wooffinden also reported over 50 fish in two visits this week. All being tempted on a sinking line teamed with a Black and Green lure.

Number of rods for the week 140
Number of fish killed 326
Number of fish released 702
Total number of fish caught this week 1,028
Rod average 7.3

Lodge, main gate open 7.30am
Full Day Boats 8.30am – 8.45pm
Part Day Boats 8.30am – 2.30pm / 2.30pm – 8.45pm
All anglers off site by 9.15pm

Default First time at foremark

Never fished Foremark before - I have visited their website but it seems out of date ie P Dixon and 2008 prices. Does anyone know if there is an up to date website, or can tell me the prices for 2009 and any tips for boat fishing in general

Ta in advance

Arrow today at Foremark

just got back from an afternoon/evening at Foremark - fished its head off.

I'm not going to brag about the numbers of fish suffice it to say that we knocked off before close of play as we had both had our fill.
Weather was great too.
We were unashamedly lure fishing - big black and green hairy things with a bit of sparkle in them seemed to be order of the day on a floater with a long leader, and a VERY slow retrieve.

fished off the bank, behind the boats and round the bays.

place was deserted apart from us and a couple of boats.
