Hi G...the Wessex Water web site is a useful resource

I fished Sutton Bingham from the bank last Saturday, 28 March. I had my 5 fish limit, all nice clean fighting rainbows, with a best fish of 3lb so I was well pleased. With the wind out of the north I stayed on the north shore of the reservoir - started in the dam corner but I didn't catch and the other anglers nearby didn't seem to be doing too well either. So after an hour or so I moved up round the "shoulder" and closer to the sailing club and had almost immediate action - caught 4 of the 5 and lost a couple. I moved back closer to the dam after lunch and caught the 5th fish.
The fish weren't too deep in the water, perhaps surprisingly, and I caught on an olive goldhead fished off a floating line. I have seen sillier flies called a damsel nymph. One of the fish had been fry feeding !
Good luck, you should have some reasonable sport next week, and don't let the slight colour in the water put you off
