Fishing has been consistent for 2 weeks now, and some great sport has been had on buzzers and mini lures on top with floaters and slow glass lines in the top few feet. Just in the door and fished from 5pm till 7 this evening in the heavy drizzle. I had my first fish on a small orange cruncher around the 3Ib mark, i quickly hit 2 more dropping both before walking round the dam. Had 1 on the dam wall on the cruncher and one on the black lure. Back to where i started on the mudlarks side i had another 2 fish on the cruncher and a follow from a large rainbow. biggest fish was a cracking overwintered bow approaching 4pounds. Fish were all in close and in the top 3feet, and takes were hard.
This is the first ive wet a line this year proper and it was good putting a bend in the rod. Mr montgomerie was a bit peeved as he didnt get a sniff but im sure he understands...
rod was an orvis hls 6# bought from forum member bruno and a superb fish playing rod.line was a cortland blue old type, brown and orange cruncher sparsely dressed and black tadpole. all takes came on the way up . Nothing looked at the brown cruncher?
Cracking night for fishing if you get right...
