Glen of Rothes trout fishery update
Anglers had a bumper week again this week with good returns despite weather conditions at times which were harsh.Top of the fish ladder was peter Green who over 2 days of fishing had 113 fish with 65 and 48 respectivly. Not bad fishing in anyones book.Bruce lawrie also had 2 days of good fishing with 27 and 15 fish,Richard Hay again over 2 days had 30 and 15 fish,Slater Scott had 24 with a nice 5lb 5ozs fish,Chris Johnston had a 24 fish haul,John McGovern had 29 fish and a whole host of anglers who had 22 fish each were Ben Grundie,Willie Petrie,Mark Morrison and Jim Eddie,18 fish eac went to Gordon Grant and B Christie,Scott Hadden had 14 fish,on 11 were Marc Moss with a 4lb 2ozs among them,Nick Fallon with a 7lb 1ozs fish aswell, and Tom Anderson,on 10 fish was Karen Gillies,Brian Lightfoot and Andy Taylor. Most fish were taken on olive coloured flies and at times fish were taking off the top and some anglers hooked fish with the dry fly.Buzzers in Black also did very well and towards the end of the week it was flies in pink which took over and caught. With the better weather on the way sport is looking excellent and the dry fly should give some real sport for those who enjoy top of the water.Next Sunday is the adult and junior competition, open to all adults with the juniors under age 16yrs old and starts at 9 am to 1pm and costs £20 per pair.It will not effect normal anglers fishing on the lochs.Names to the fishery.
