Default Problems at fishery (alcohol)

Last year a certain club had a great day at snypes and came again today. last year they had a beer but an incident at the end of the season forced me to ban drinking at both fisheries. The club today were not happy as they did not know and said i had ruined there outing as a result. At ten oclock i went down from HARELAW and offered a full refund if they left at that time. They fished on till 12 then asked for there money back. I was called a crook and told that i was being reported to various newspapers and informed i had a terrible attitude. I returned there money in full minus the cost of fish they had and told them to leave. They then cancelled bookings at Harelaw because they would not be allowed to drink and this would ruin there day out. I was very angry by this point but somehow managed to stay calm, which is a bonus for said club. The man in charge is on this forum and im sure knows how i feel.

Not a good day at the office. Enough said.

ALCOHOL and fisheries do NOT mix.

If this makes me a ****** then so be it .

Quite right to stick to your guns. It's offputting to see people drinking at a fishery, and thats coming from a heavy drinker! Pathetic really that they can't enjoy a days fishing without the booze. The people involved seriously need to grow a set!

Alex i would like to say well done for standing up to the rules that you set up mate and never gave into pressure,,i can only imagine what was said mate and for that i have nothing but praise for you and your staff.

It must be some kinda Pish fishing club that cant go to a water for a days fishing without having a drink,,and as for wasting their day,,,,WRONG,,they wasted the day themselves.
As for refunding the money that is another matter,,i for one would have only given them half the money back as it has ruined your day and you could have had decent folk fishing instead,,what if every club did that alex,,you would be shut within 6 months !,,i take it you have signs up and visible telling them of the rules,,if you do they would have got NO money back.,,Alex you dont need clubs like that fishing your waters mate.

Tomorrow is another day mate !

Cheers

Davie

(i am gonna have to visit your waters soon mate !)

There's drinking and drinking. I'd really resent it if someone suggested that my single glass of river chilled Chablis or beer with lunch was such an abomination that I'd have to leave the fishery. That's of course unless a "no alcohol" notice was posted in which case I'd happily comply.

Hi Alex,

Well the way I see it rules are rules and I would not break the rules of the fishery.
I have a business which has "rules" that my customers have to agree to, I fully support your right to apply and enforce rules in your business.

To be fair there's always some idiot who pushes it too far and spoils it for everyone!

Cheers

Andy
