Defo a NO NO NO from me, nothing worse than going to a fishery and seeing buckie bottles and cans everywhere, or even worse folk getting half cut and starting all the shouting across the water stuff or radios blasting! one fishery in lanark has a bad problem with this and its ruined the place, crates of beer and buckfast everywhere.

Alcohol and water should never be mixed unless its in a drink

So if a fishery allows drinking i wont go near it.

Its a no for me. Alcohol no matter how little affects judgement, tending to make you more confident which in some cases may be overconfident in your own ability to wade etc?.

Alcohol and deep water are a potentially dangerous combination for the unwary. If you fancy a pint or dram or two do it after you have finished fishing not before or during.

Better to drown your sorrows if you blank than drown yourself.

It's a no from me. As above, it will have an effect on your judgement and it does spoil it for others.

NO NO NO ,, if you want a drink then get away from the water and go to a pub or even better still stay in your house and have a drink.

This is only my opinion !,,if you dont agree with it then tough ! dont come on hear and start slagging people off just because you dont agree,,as this seem to always be the case on this forum,,there is always some smart ar*e who thinks their opinon is better than anybody elses.

Cheers

Davie

maybe if its a hip flask of whiskey in the winter to keep the cockles warm. otherwise bad stuff can happen, especially on exposed places.

Hi Alex. You have asked this before on the fishery comments! Is it because your getting flak from a few anglers on the rule you have introduced?

If so I'm sure they will find another fishery that doesn't care about the rest of its clientel. You do by bringing this rule in and no doubt might even bring in more customers because of the peace and less hostile climate (at times).

Stick with it I say. Plenty of other times/places to drink and near water isn't one of them.

There is a difference between having a couple of wee nips from a hip flask to guys obviously staggering around steaming drunk.

I would say ban it completely!
