Anyone been this week ? I know it has been very windy and boats not out all days.

We have boats on Sunday and I've read the reports but would be interested to hear from anyone who has been there this week.

Thanks

Charlie

I fished it last weekend. A lot of the boat anglers were struggling and the fish seemed to be very close in to the bank. I started (from the bank) around plummers park but it was dead there so moved round to the north bank and eventually found lots of fish around the Hill Farm area.

Floating line with a gold bead hares ear on the point with a orange hot head DB on the dropper catching the fish. Caught 6 fish, lost a couple but had plenty of pulls. Wasn't as windy then though so casting wasn't a problem.

Hi Charlie,

As Sunrider has already mentioned, there are an awful lot of fish around Hill Farm Point but, to get at them in a consistant manner you would probably have to anchor as close as you can get away with to the point and annoy the hell out of the bank anglers.

I fished Hill Farm Point from approx 0530 - 0930 last Friday and you could have caught them on strawberries if you wanted to. However, at 0900 two boats anchored up at exactly 50 yards either side of me and I felt it was time to leave.

If I was fishing Grafham from a boat on Sunday and the wind was from the west, I would drift 80-100 yards off the bank from G-Bouy all the way down to the Willows as I've seen boats pick fish up all the way along there.

I haven't been out this week as I'm turning into a bit of a pussy and Grafham can be a bit limiting from the bank in a strong westerly.

One thing that has surprised me is that the early season stockies have been far more willing to take buzzers than the usual Cats Whisker/Viva type lures (although you will still catch on these of course).

Hope this helps.

Graham

It did get kind of cosy when I was there on Sat.

Boat fished last saturday, fished loch style , morning was hard only two fish

between four of us, afternoon much better black and green boobys on di5\7

orange blobs,G marker ,deepwater point and hill fm,like someone else said the closer to the bank the better, was a bit conjested to put it mildly, drifting and anchors dont mix.

Boats not out today due to the wind - wouldn't have gone out if they were letting them out waves were obscene.

Stopped of for a few hours at Manor farm, few touches but nothing positive.
