Default Seighford Lakes

Seighford Lakes is Phil Dixon's new fishery near Stafford (ST18 9LQ) Until 4th April phone Phil on 07921713716. It opens for business as a fly and coarse fishery on Saturday 4th April at 7.00am.

There will be two well stocked lakes available for fly fishing from opening day with a choice of day ticket options.

All anglers are assured of good sport and a warm welcome, with free tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches for all throughout opening weekend.

Watch the press for more details.

Sounds good Mike. What size are the lakes? Will be popping over at some point to offer support to Phil.

Will have to call in - its less than 10 mins from me. A lakes complex excavated a few years ago and stocked with carp (hence the mixed fishery idea I guess), but then left and put on the market I think?? Coarse fishing wise theres a fair bit of competition in the area - Browning Cudmore, Chebsey, Heronbrook, Baden Hall....

If he can't make it work, tell him to go and have a look at Shelmore a few miles west near Gnosall. A wasted gem of a small trout fishery, crying out for someone who knows what they're doing!

I think Hanley ANgling Society had a lake there, not sure if thats part of the purchase or not but it had some mature carp in there.

Every business has competition but its probably the match anglers that would make this a success or not. The new owner should use some of the ploys that places like Cudmore use, such as...no pellets, unless they're the ones we sell in our on-site shop!!! Very clever.

Mike, it's good to know that Phil's got somewhere to make good use of his talents! I'm sure a lot of anglers will be down to support Phil in his new venture.
