I am heading up there on Monday with my cousin for 4 days fishing. What kind of boobies were they Paul that your mate was using? Any pics? Had a great few days up there last year took fish on a yellow Montana. What would the wind have to be to stop the boats going out. If to windy may try Elinor any idea how that is fishing or what flies to use on her.
All the best
Guys

Elinor is fishing well, although that can get pretty windy, too, as it is rather exposed. Slow intermediate with blobs and black/green or floater with buzzers. Bung was working but no good if it is blowing hard.

General rule on winds is above 25mph , subject also to direction. F/cast on Wind guru for grafham is gusting up to 39mph tomorrow. Think you might find if the winds are as said Elinor is quite open . Ravensthorpe might offer you some shelter.

Fished Grafham from thre bank on both thursday and friday. Friday was hard but that was due to the bright sun. Caught a few late on from G bouy bank on Cormorants an a floater. Thursday was totally Different. Caught alot of fish all on either an orange blob on the dropper or the olive lure on the point. Again all from G-Bouy bank but conditions were perfect.

They were all full of dapnia. The boats were catching really well anchored quite a way out from the G-bouy bank during the bright sun on friday. all looked like they were pulling lures.

Elinor was fishing really well but i havn't been over there for a week. Was cathing on small olive goldheads and the fish were only around 2 ft down.

Good luck and let us all know how you get on.
