Default Thornton

Fished Thornton yesterday with a mate and 8 fish were accounted for, really nice days fishing. Ifor has to be praised for a cracking fishery. 6 fish taken on intermediate with black & green patterns and 2 on the floater with a black & green skunk.

Boat fishing into the bank opposite the lodge and 200 yds to the right.
Boats with electric motors are available.

First time at thornton a week and a half ago, took 13 from the bank which is more than I caught all of last season. All but one on cats whisker.

Couldn't beleive it when I was catching on successive casts, and a take on both point and dropper at once was just unreal.

Hoping to get back again this week, nice place and the walk back to the car certainly warms your feet after a few hours in the water

Apparently Thornton boats are now being called in at sunset or thereabouts, instead of previous seasons' approx one hour after sunset. Has anyone experienced this ? That last hour is always the best for fishing 'on top' (if you can hook em !) and it would be a shame to miss that part of the day ! I may have heard the wrong information, but looking at the Thornton reports for last week boats are only available until 7:30 when it is light until 8:30. Has something changed or gone wrong here ?

i cant see ifor bringing you in before the evening rise, hes normally out there himself when they start rising in that magic hour. Ive certainly been out in a boat when the darkness falls.

Give him a ring if you want clarification or peace of mind.
