Question Draycote opening?

Hi!,

anybody know when Draycote opens and if any of the restrictions currently being forced upon Foremark will effect Draycote.

Normally opens the last weekend in March and, as far as I am aware, there are no restrictions.

If you call the lodge on 01788 812018 there's normally a recorded message on the answer phone that should give you the information you need.

Just to clarify the situation, no other tennant of Severn Trent has had any restrictions put on them, Keith at Draycote & myself at Thornton can & will be fishing the same bank areas as last season.

Enjoy your visit to Draycote.

Morning all.

Draycote opens on Weds 25th March. As far as I know all boats are booked up for that day (I'll be venturing down to fish the following day ).

Cheers
Ben

Ifor may have already answered this but to be clear their H&S manager stated during a meeting that any restrictions will only be put in place as leases come up for negotiation - therefore there should be no changes until then. However when this occurs he was also very clear that, under H&S concerns.
Fishing from an 'operational structure' (Dam Wall) will not occur.
Fishing where the public could come into contact with the anglers backcast would either mean public or angler restrictions being placed - but Never the twain shall meet.
Wading shall not occur.

These were his '3 commandments' so to speak and would listen to no reasoning or comprimise. In a second meeting these were largely backed up by the External relations director for STW (Although they are going to respond in substance shortly)..

At least for now we can enjoy the excellent fishing that both Keith and Ifor provide, both boat and bank. But for how long is dependant upon the length of lease and the outcome of our efforts at Foremark. (See the petition thread and sign if possible)
