i went started fishing the point between hollins bay and davey jones with no bites or anything . people on west bank of hollins bay where catching a couple .i started to fish davey jones down to kettlewells and still no bites wind was tough into my face so decided to fish other bank so wind behind me and went to halsteds hike but by time i walked round bloody wind changed direction right into my face again for a newbie this was a pain but managed to catch two there. then no more bites so went to meet up with mates on dam wall and no bites there either and i think that was same for many that fished at the wall.so went to get a brew then fished down two trees and that friggin wind changed direction again into my face . fly getting blown around my rod . fly hitting my back . tangles in rocks by now i was loosing my patience and rod lucky it still in one piece.im sure plenty caught and i know there was a 14lber and a 12lber caught. the 141lber looked a lot bigger than 14lb. not sure how many there but i got there at 6.30 and already there was about 20 cars there.left about 3.30 ish . never cursed rocks so much in my life

went to stocks today with my mate. he wanted to start in hollins bay because he did well there last year and i wanted to walk up to newclose bay right up at the top of the res. i had never fished hollins bay so i thought ok ill give it a go. we fished there until 1pm and we never had a touch. we saw about half a dozen fish caught between about 40 anglers crowded around the bay. i thought sod this and we set off for newclose bay stopping along the way to try the odd spot, still nothing when we got to newclose bay every angler had caught several fish. within an hour or so i had caught 11 fish and my mate had caught 10 on floating lines with various flies fished very slow (orange fritz, golhead viva, humungus)

Fished today, Northern shallows, 10-12ft from the tree line was where the fish were held up.

Approx 20 boats along the whole stretch, Haribo 7-8 fish landed with plenty lost and missed and myself 17 landed to the boat..... Haribo stopped back to fish the bank, I made my way home around 5.45pm.

15ft Ghost Tip & Ayr Travellers 'Monster' and Pink Rabbit.

From initial reports, Newclose Bay fished better than most places on the Lake for Bank Anglers. Boat Anglers, Northern Shallows was the place to be.
