Default Dalbeatie area fisheries

Well my holiday plans have recently changed, we were looking to be staying in loch lomond but were now heading to the Dalbeatie area.

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of and good trout fisheries round there. The problem is, we are going up the first week in March and most places I've found are going to be shut.

The only place I've found within a reasonable distance is Kirkhouse fishery.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Theres Jericho in dumfries decent trout but not C&R, the Drum is good nice size and nice countryside you can do C&R,
Glenquicken at Creetown has quality fish and C&R but is not big has not long been dug out,
And there is a new loch opened nr Dumfries called Alderneuk, i haven't fished it but spoke to a lad who had, said it had quality fish C&R but loch is small.
There is also loch Dee new Galloway it has a lot of good reports its better to have chest waders,
I think its broonies, this is probably the most picturesque Loch in South Scotland,
Surrounded by Hills it looks like a highland loch,
i haven't Fished it, but maybe some forum members have,
And it would be good if they could tell us what its like as ive always wanted to fish it.

The Drum is open, good Fish but not deep has a good reputation, anglers coming from Ayrshire to fish there,a good top of the water venue,
location is nice too but facilitys are poor just a hut,
3 Fish and C&R £15,
2 Fish and C&R £13,
C&R £10,
You can fish from 8am till dark take wellies loch is muddy round sides.

The drum and glenquicken will be open,Loch Dee is lovely place to fish but as its brown trout only it'll be march 15th,it also is very high up i think its usually latter in the year before it starts to fish,my mate fished alderneuk the other week i don't think they done a catch and release ticket either.
