Default Glen of Rothes trout fishery

The fishery is now fully open and all ice is now gone.Thankfully.Lochs should fish like new now.Water is coloured due to snow melt but should clear well for weekend. Those out today were catching well on bright lures and sinking lines as fish were deep.

Sunday 22nd Feb the coarse fishing competition starts at 9am to 3pm and should be a good event.it does not effect other lochs as this is a seperate loch alltogether.

At long last we can go fishing.

With the bad weather past the fishing as expected has got off with a bang.Slater Scott had 2 fish for 20lbs 14ozs of an 11lbs 2oz and an 8lb 12ozs among his 25 fish.Dave leitch had 20 with a tagged fish among them,Duncan Shearer had a 5lb 12ozs fish andGeorge ross had a nice 7lb 12ozs fish.water is cleared well now and the fishery is all back to normal at last.Fish were even coming to the surface and most are being taken very high in the water.best flies being buzzers, nymphs and tuftys.Coarse fishing compy on sunday 22nd starts at 9am and the forecast is good (I hope).
Tightlines.

The lochs are fishing really well and this week has seen some excellent fishing with some anglers catching 38 fish,33,s and many into the 20,s.Lures on intermediates was for the early part but then fish came to the surface and some were taking drys and buzzers which took over for the second part of the week.Best fish has been a 10lb 9ozs fish and some others were lost but plenty caught between 4 and 8lbs were logged. Main thing was that anglers have enjoyed plenty of good sport since reopening last month.
