Default Wykeham Lakes

Well another great day today, over 50 fish between myself and m2mga. What a winter fishery this is with trout taking freely no more than 3 feet deep, rainbows to nearly 4lb and a few blues thrown in for good measure around 2lb
which go like hell.
Black and sunburst blobs under an indicator works well, also took a couple on D/B's. Fair covering of ice but the fishery manager quite prepared to run the boat round to clear it if required.
Until next time.
Andy

I've never been before but keep looking at it to have a go. I may have a trip down this weekend or next. Which lake is fishing the best and do i need my waders? Do you know what time it opens?

Cheers Chris

P.S Do you know if Kiplin Hall is back open yet?

Hi Chris

No you don't need your waders, fish from the causeway and you'll reach deep water. Stuffed with fish and like I said not deep.
Opens at 8.30. Don't know Kiplin Hall sorry.

Yes , the causeway lake is now closed, Andy was referring to the green bank side of the trout lake.

Hi prof1974, a D/B is a diawl bach , a nymph pattern ,Wykeham is a great venue very good quality fish & plenty of them!! i prefer to wear my waders as there are a couple of pegs where standing in the water can give you a bit more room (back cast etc)better to have them & not need them than to wish you took them good luck
tight lines
