Default Map of Still Waters

OK, so I clearly have too much time on my hands (not true sadly).

I have started work on a Google Map of Trout Fisheries in the UK. It currently covers only the South of England however it's a work in progress. It is based mostly on sites found online and so may well be inacurate, if you spot anything erroneous please let me know.

Why bother? Well, I'm hoping to find it useful when holidaying in the UK but also since I started fly fishing you've been a hugely helpful bunch so I'm hoping to "put something back in" and I hope that others will find it useful too.

Here it is:

<edit>
Better still, you can now use
http://www.theflyfishersmap.co.uk
</edit>

As I said it is VERY much a work in progress.

I may be wrong but i'm sure Hanningfeild was just out of London and not in Newcastle.

Erm yea I did think that was a little odd since I was on the "South East" part of this **see below** site

http://www.troutfisheries.co.uk/hanfield.html

It looks like the registered address is in Newcastle.

This looks great,

You should add http://www.hallifordmere.co.uk/

In the Reading area there is http://www.barnelmsfishery.co.uk/index.htm
and http://www.haywardsfarmfishery.co.uk/ I havent been to either but I hope to make their acquaintance once the days get longer.

Keep up the good work - if the places on the map are hyperlinked to the water website it will be a godsend for the travelling fisher.

As the canoeing community seem to have a headstart http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/f...hp?f=3&t=45802 couldn't this be done with rivers? A comprehensive map with information on who has the rights to beats could surely be possible with the accumulated knowledge on the forum.

Great idea, once it's complete it'll be a fantastic resource for us all, especially for anyone that's doing some traveling
Will you be adding fisheries north of the border too?

Jazzman
