Default Thornton Reservoir 2009

Thornton Reservoir, Nr Leicester will open for bank & boat anglers on 1st February 2009.

Following last years record season Im looking forward to my 28th season managing the trout fishing on this picturesque 70 acre fishery.

With a pre-season stocking of 3500 trout were looking forward to a good start

Our tackle shop is getting ready for the new season with St Croix, Redington, Vision, Shakespeare been a few of the brands we will be stocking for 2009.

Thats the view looking up the reservoir from the bottom of the Markfield Arm. Thornton is the oldest reservoir in Leicestershire built 1853.

The nicest fishery in the Midlands, IMO.

Looking forward to a few sessions on Thorton again this year, hoping to introduce a friend to the joys of float tubing as soon as the water warms up a bit
