Default Glen of Rothes Trout fishery Open

The Glen of Rothes is open for fishing despite very hard frosts over the last few days.Coarse loch, small fly loch are both frozen solid. But the main fly loch and bait loch are both open and have plenty of room to fish. There is some ice on the main loch and it will limit numbers who want to fish to about 15 anglers.Over the festive period anglers had some good catches but when sun came out it did go quiet and then got better as it went behind the hills.Blues were a good feature in bags and heaviest fish over the last couple of days has been a 15lb 13ozs fish. With a bit of wind the main loch will easily clear of ice in no time.Happy New year to all.
