Reckon we will end up at Wellsfield as they have anti-ice machines Burnhouse doesnt, Swanswater does but its always mobbed and theres the peg hoggers

Either way reckon it will be hard going where ever but thats the challenge

You seem to know the stirling area fisheries pretty well, can you give me your opinion where my best bet of catching something would be? I'm just looking to get a few fish under my belt whilst improving my casting before hitting the rivers next season.

if you are wanting a wee fishery with plenty of casting space ample room betwee pegs expert local knowledge from the boys and a good chance of a fish look no further than burnhouse pound for pound weight, and cash is. a far better alternative than wellsfield and swanswater i am not knockking the other two venues but in my opinion burhouse wins hands down i have fished it a dozen times or so this season and have found the fish not easy to catch but rewarding no wave machines to break the ice but a rowing boat with big oars never been a problem yet might see you up there i am due a freebie
green/black flexi cat never fails...........

Was at Burnhouse today. Almost no ice when I turned up about 10ish. Not sure how it was in the morning. I had a few offers and landed 2. Both on the bloodworm buzzer (see SBS in flytying) about 6 ft under a bung. Very few fish coming off, although one of the locals hammered them in the 'creche' (outflow area) on intermediate with 2 yellow dancers. Hope this helps.

Called Allandale this morning first before I went to Burnhouse and they said it was completely frozen. Not trying to put a damper on it

My dad and I each took 3 nice rainbows on christmas eve at Wellsfield. My three totalled 10lbs and my dads 7lbs. I had a 4lber that went like a train! We took them on either green or yellow dancers. I have taken all my fish there or Swanie on dancers.

I would recommend trying these if you are going to either of these two places. Not tried Burnhouse yet but on my list of places to try as I am a newbie myself.
