Default Tayside Area Fishing 16/17 Jan 09

Hi,

I generally do all my fly fishing in the South, but on occaision, I get up to my dad's in Perth. He seems to think that the fishing is finished now until March/April time. Are there any (reasonable) areas near Perth that are c & r that I could go to (and obviously take my dad along!) on the above dates?

I have been so looking forward to going up and showing my dad how much more accomplished I have become, and seeing as I am going up there for a family party, seems rude not to take the fly gear from Somerset to Scotland

The Salmon season starts in january on the tay. The Brown trout season in Scotland starts on the 15th March. There is no close season on Rainbows, and you can fish for Grayling at that time of year.
Why don't you drop in on the Forum Grayling outing on the 18th jan at Kinkell bridge,It's not far from Perth. and you will probably have a good time.
Orchill loch near Auchterarder is a neat Rainbow venue.(no C&R)
