Default Rosslynlee 29th Nov

Made the trip across to fish Rosslynlee with my mate Lambr.Already there when we arrived was Auldjo from the site. Not only with a couple of welcome bacon butties for us but a massive chocolate fudge cake she had made Thank you very much Jo,i can feel my waist expanding just looking at it Anyway back to the fishing, with ice in the edges, flat calm and sun coming up,it was the bung i setup on my rod.An Okey Dokey was on the dropper and pinkie on the point. Was`nt to long before the first fish of the day came to the pinkie, which was set at 6ft.A nice rainbow of around 3lbs was soon in the net.5 mins later and number two joined it,again on the pinkie.I was getting penty of soft takes, with a slight breeze the fish might have taken flies more confidently.I was on a three fish ticket and the last one of my limit was a real scrapper of just over 4lbs,once more to the pinkie.Went and weighed in my fish which for the three was 10lbs 6oz.I had seen Jo get a couple of fish as well, though my mate Lambr had`nt had a touch yet.Changed flies and went with a Black Nomad Rabbit, first cast with it and i was into another trout. For the next half hour the sport was brilliant, landed a few more fish and had plenty of takes. The takes dried up and it was getting chillier as the sun had gone.Dropped my depth down to 8ft from 6ft and changed from black to F.U. Rabbit.Straight away i was into a fish and took a couple more on it.My mate Lambr was struggling and i waited till he came round and let him in where i was fishing.I moved along a few pegs and switched to a Reverse Millenium Bug and put the depth of my indicator back to 6ft.Whilst watching my mate Lambr to see if he was getting any joy the rod was nearly ripped out my hands.Much to the annoyance of Lambr i was in again. Think the big man was about ready to throw a tantrum at this point Finally he got a fish and his blank was off!!Two minutes later and he was in again only to drop it at the net.He was pulling a couple of lures which the trout seemed to like as he got his other two fish soon after. His three fish weighed in at just over 9lbs.Two of the lads from the Howwood Flyfishers had came through and they were taking fish steadily on The F.U. fished about 7ft under a bung.By now it was getting really nippy.Deciding we would call it a day about 2ish i crossed over the bridge to fish the other bank for last hour. A light breeze was picking up and it was moving the indicator along nicely. The last hour was tremendous, loads of offers with an F.U. at 6ft.My mate Lambr was still picking up fish pulling lures but it was the bung that was doing it for the rest of the guys from Howwood.Calling it a day at 2,we left Jo still fishing away.Brilliant days fishing!!Thanks again to AJ for the bacon butties,i`m off to get some cream for some of that fudge cake, mmmmm Andy
