Thornton End of Season Report

2008 was a record catch season with 21, 310 trout caught by 6,841 rods for a fishery rod average 3.1

The largest rainbow of the season weighed 7lb2oz with the largest brown weighing 5lb4oz

We have enjoyed a consistent seasons fishing reflected in the total catch with bank anglers in particular enjoying excellent sport during February through to mid May.

Although our 2008 season has closed we are already working towards the 2009 season with our boats out of the water & any repairs required have already begun. We are also busy sorting out the new stock for our tackle shop, New for 2009 will be rods, waders & lines from Shakespeare, rods from St Croix & items of luggage from Fishpond.
