Guys - forgive my ignorance (I know nothing about pike) but do you keep these fish? The reason I ask is because you have two in one photo and you talk about photographing one on the bank that was caught on the boat.

I always thought pike were catch and release? As I say, I'm still learning so I am sorry if it is a daft question.

Great meeting you yesterday Alex - most certainly will be coming up to see you at some point - do you still have good sport on the fly with the Pike in December at the Snypes?

they can switch on out the blue and off just as quickly, you just have to take the opportunities when they come. The pike in the photos were hooked on the boat and as i had it safely in the net i jumped ahore and waited for a camera. Pike can safely be held in the correct retaining tubes for certain periods and at certain times , weather , temperature etc must all be considered, if unsure of anything just release them, better safe than sorry.

Nice fish guys.

Alex when did you get the Venachar fish?

I was up a couple of weeks ago and caught one about half that size.

I agree they are great fish to catch.

Cheers

Scott

october in 6 feet of water. Venachar is getting alot of pressure...But if you stay away from the masses the rewards are there. A few blanks is enough to put most off .

Got more photos coming soon.
