Default Cowans Law ????

My uncle and i decided to go to COWANS LAW yesterday for the first time in a long time we paid £40 between us for 8hrs fishing and ended up with 5????????offers between us???? there were a dozen anglers on at one point and after a few hours i counted 4 fish caught only. now i know it was cold and it IS NOVEMBER but not until we went round into the bay where they stock it did we find 3 anglers with a fish or 2. with the trees all chopped down and obviously a low stocking density the mood and atmosphere has gone for me. i used to fish here quite a lot but something doesnt seem right. i once heard they were selling it ,is that true? its a shame but on a positive note any fish i did see were good quality. i may be off the mark here ,and im only giving my honest opinion BUT Ii dont think so. has anyone else fished it lately.??

Im afraid its on the slip the girls have been trying to shift it for a couple of years now i heard they were looking for £500,000+ for the whole lot house, shooting, fishery etc. It still has some serious fish in it of a considerable quality , but as you say the stocking policy is a pale shadow of what it was . Used to be a regular a couple of years ago but when you take into account the prices , there are better options elsewhere in ayrshire . Its a pity because it is in good surroundings ..

I fished Craufordland in Fenwick on Monday, it was frosty and like a mill pond but still caught fish on a Cats whisker,( dancers, CDC`s, diawl bachs all work well). Plenty of fish there and the other fishermen are friendly, but the guy that runs it can be hard work sometimes.
I have fished it a good few times and never blanked yet, its £10 for 2 fish then C&R which is ok.
cheers Diarmid.
