Default Glen of Rothes trout fishery

A wintery week caused a slow week of fishing and depths and tactics had to be rethought to produce results. The colder water made fish less active, untill the weekend when fish started to take well and even dry fly took fish as they sought insects from the surface.Jim Eddie had a good day with 18 fish on buzzers,Bob Anderson had 13 with his best a nice 6lb 1ozs,Slater Scott had 12,B Urquart had 10 again on buzzers, brian Murdoch had a nice fish of 4lb 4oz,Jimmy George had 11,Doug Fraser had 12 fish with his best at 6lbs,Chris Boyle had a 4lb 8ozs fish and Mark Morrison had 14 again to buzzers.Okey dokeys in lime and white and buzzers in red and white alos bloodworms were the winning flies and they produced the most fish.Fishing will be spasmodic now with colder water and patience is needed as fish feed on and off throughout the day.But its worth the wait as they fight very hard in winter and a good days fishing can be had
