Default Menteith Today

LOM today was a wild, wet and cold place. Only one rainbow at 2 1/4 Lbs and my partner blanked, with the exception of landing 3 pike, the first 2 as per the first photo and 1 of about 6Lbs all on a white cats whisker.

These 2 pictures capture a couple of the very few bright breaks which came amongst the lashing wind and rain

I could easily have chucked it at several times throughout the day Jim.

There were only 6 boats out which is pretty unusual for a Friday. And every boat on the shore was almost full to the gunnels with rainwater, which took a while to bail out before getting started.

I had one other moment of excitement when a very large pike took my small black goldhead nymph near the reeds at Kate's Brae with a tremendous boil on the surface near to the baot before screaming off for deeper waters for at least 50 yards before it shed the hook.

Well that's me finished with LOM for this year. Roll on 2009.
