Default Neilston Trout Fishery SNYPES DAM

Lots of good fish caught today by the 5 very brave (or mad) anglers who ventured out. Weather was absolutely wild to say the least.

Tam Burnett had 3 and lost a good fish and Mark Stevens had 4 in a quick 2 hour session all to orange blobs and damsels .

Paul mcdonagh had 4 on a damsel

Davie stewart had 3 for 11Ibs 8oz on mini cats whiskers.

Mr Jack had 5 in 45 mins off the dam wall on di5 line and a single black lure.

work is ongoing for the 2009 season , updates will be posted.

Default Snypes Saturday

Cardwell Flyfishers had 39 fish to 8 rods and alot of fish lost , biggest over 4Ibs mostly on lures all close to the bank.

Sunday was very cold and windy today.

Billy williamson had 7 on a hot head damsel
A. wilkie 6 on mini lures
J.Kennedy and son 4 for 12Ibs 7oz

Big thankyou to cardwell flyfishers for the buisness at this time of year.

Aye we had an enjoyable day on Saturday ....the vast majority of fish were sitting up the top end of the loch in a very concentrated area, the guys who stayed hit their limits and beyond .......tho' a few were caught along the nearside bank - I decided to fish round the whole loch and I had one in the wee bay round the corner from the "hut" and a few pulls but defo the top of the loch was the place to be. The far side bank is very marshy and you really need waders to get out there beyond the reedbeds.

Not so many fish moving - the wind was damn chilly in the afternoon....but saw some seriously large fish rising just out of range.

The quality of fish landed was first class....

Good luck with your plans Alex - Snypes could well become an interesting wee venue...a few more boats and some improved sineage () would go a long way..

Would really like to have another crack at it on a summers day when theres more top of the water action....

Thumbs up

Like Steveo said the quality of fish taken at Snypes were first class.
I only had 3 but they were fully finned and had spade like tails and put up a hell of a fight!
On behalf of the Cardwell Gamefisher i would like to thank Alex for making it an enjoyable days fishing. he gave us a generous discount, plus put up a bottle for the heaviest fish. (which I won)
