Default South Wales.

I know this has been covered before so appologies if I repeat / cover any old ground.

I'm visiting family in South Wales in a few weeks and wanted to try and get a bit of time on a water near by as i've never fished that area.

Any suggestions for stillwaters not too far out from Swansea? Hopefully with a good chance of catching as i'll be responsible for feeding

Ta, D.

Garnffrwd - Beautiful setting, about 5-6 acres, well run and friendly with top quality fish. C&R or C&K tickets available. About 30 mins from Swansea centre.

Tyn Y Graig - Never been there but two ponds of about 1-1.5 acres each. C&K tickets. Good chance of catching. About 20-25 mins from Swansea centre.

Papermill - Pond of about 1 acre, C&K tickets. Good chance of catching stockies. Worm fishing on one bank however limits access for fly anglers and their bubble floats will and on your side. 10 mins from Swansea centre.

Abernant - about four acres, C&K tickets. Good chance of fish. About 20-25 mins from Swansea centre. On side of hill so can be a bit exposed.

Shimano Felindre Big Fish Water - About 3 acres. Does exactly what it says on the tin. About 15-20 mins from Swansea centre.

Glyncorrwg - 2 acre lake, good chance of fish. About 30 mins from Swansea centre.

Cheers Osprey.

Do you have any web addresses etc for Garnffrwd, Tyn Y Graig and Abernant, I can't seem to find anything online. Not too sure about Felindre, not heard great things about it and specimen hunting is not really my thing

Might give Glyncorrwg a go, it looks like a nice setting.

How was the game on saturday against USA Perpignan? It looked a good result. I'm hoping to make it over to the worcester match on Sunday.

Ta, D.

I'd recomend it David.......

I'm not one for stockies to be honest but! - I fished there a couple of times this year because the rivers were out of sorts.Top of the water sport and the size and quality of fish was fantastic!.

DAZ.

P.S...I'd also recomend you go on a weekday if you can - Weekends can get a little busy!.

Cheers Daz,

Hoping to get down there in a few weeks once I get this cast off my ankle. I don't get to fish the rivers that much as I live in birmingham and its a bit of a desert here for moving water.

I'll try to avoid the weekend cheers, thats reserved for wanding around shops etc with the wife

Ta, Dave.

Just had a look at their website. Looks really good, especially the virtual tour! They've got a forum on there and the latest post says they hooked 16 and landed 8... so it sounds like there are some fish there! Definately on my list to fish it next year.
