Sutton Bingham is probably your best bet. A tasty little reservoir at 140 acres.
More details here:

Close enough to Chew & Blagdon, best on the boats....

OR

You could have a day ticket on Dorchester Club waters, beautiful, chalk streams for not very much money at all.. www.grhe.co.uk i think or something like that.

Or look up Richard Slocock on google at tolpuddle, has some lakes and dayticket river stretches on the Frome, Allen and Piddle I think.

--edit-- oops, just noticed the stillwater part There are a few small lakes in the area as well as Sutton Bingham, The local Yellow Pages will probably be able to point you in the right direction.

Never fished it myself, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.

Default Flyfishing In Dorset

Hi Guys

Just thought i would let you all know how the week went Tried several places as per previous responses , Sutton Bingham , the Ranger advised us to come back in an week or two after the water temp settled down , currently at 21c , not ideal fo fishing?
Contacted Richard at Tolpuddle , they offered a reduced rate as he had not stocked it fo a while, this again this being due to the v.warm water , contacted Flowers farm , again fishing has been difficult , and was advised not to bother , so all in all had a good week with ****** all fishing , me thinks i will take up Needlepoint untill the weather changes, hang on voice from the back of the cave ,the Hall Stairs Landing need a coat of paint !!! shall i give her the standard answer , Get somebody in to do it ????,

Cheers

Yes, oh great tackletart. The fishing in Dorset is not the greatest if trout are the quarry.
I always need reminding why the journey to chew and blagdon is done on such a regular basis.
Especially through all those bloody speed camaras.
