Default helwith bridge

Fished helwith on friday from 8:30 til 16:15 in a swirly wind and slight drizzle finished up with 33 fish largest 8lbs, the tail of the fish was 17cm, all of the fish were in splendid condition. All fished came to a black minkie on a ghost tip. I had the fishery to myself until 14:00 when another angler arrived i think he only managed 1 fish. At one stage i had 12 fish in 12 casts.
The water clarity was relatively clear but in the margins there where large patches of blue green algae but this didn't affect the fishing.

Has anybodyelse fished it recently? My own experience of the water is that it fishes better in the winter months. The quality of the fish are second to none which is a credit to the owner, so i have put the web site link below.

I cannot begin to describe the torture that these fishing results are putting me through, not only are my team mates getting plenty of opportunities to fish, but they're doing bloomin' well - BenB and Hagrid win the Wateraid last week, BenB and LB win the autumn pairs on Rutland on Saturday, and you put up a cricket score at Helwith Bridge. All I can do is strip wallpaper, change nappies and bask in your own glories.

Keep up the good results lads, but please feel free to kidnap me for your next fishing trip - I'll be a willing hostage!

Good result BFB

Hellish Bridge can serve up good fish and an awkward swirling wind in equal measure, think you got the best out of the place! With that clear spring fed water and hard fighting fish it's the closest thing to boat fishing without getting afloat.

I'll be there with you over the winter months BFB, with ice in the rod rings, numb finers and a hip flask!

Keep your powder dry Bazzer, we'll get you away from those brown nappies and out before everywhere shuts down for winter.
